CELEBRATING OVER 30 YEARS IN THE LORD'S SERVICE

welcome

We are an independent church in the Reformed Baptist tradition and subscribes to the substance of the 1744 Philadelphia Confession of Faith. Our mission is most aptly summarized by our slogan:

"Preaching the Historic Gospel to Modern People."

We preach the unconditional love of God in saving sinners through faith in Jesus Christ and encourage a lifestyle of active Christian discipleship in which believers love their neighbors as themselves in ways consistent with their gifts and callings.

9/11 Candlelight Vigil
The 21st Ward Veterans Association will be host a candlelight prayer vigil at the Gorgas Park War Memorial on Saturday, September 11, at 7:00 p.m. In the event of inclement weather the prayer vigil will be held in the park's gazebo. There will be a limited number of candles available and the public is encouraged to bring a candle for the service. Police, Fire, EMT's, and military personnel will light the ceremonial candles and will start the candlelight process for the community members. The Association invites all current military personnel to attend the service. These men and women will be acknowledged for their commitment to sustaining the freedom we enjoy as Americans. Additional speakers will be participating to describe current community efforts to support our troops and hospitalized veterans. These efforts include Operation Bedding, and the Flag Retirement project managed by Boy Scout troop 334.

Community Luncheon & "National Go Back to Church Day"
The church's bimonthly community luncheon will take place on Sunday, September 12, at 12:30pm. This date has been on the church's calendar for some time due to the Labor Day holiday. In God's providence, however, it also coincides with "National Go Back to Church Day," sponsored by Mission America Coalition (MAC) in conjunction with LifeWay Research. Those whom we invite to worship can then enjoy our customary outreach of hospitality to the neighborhood. You can find out more, and access all sorts of helpful materials, at http://www.backtochurch.com/
